The standing committee of the world council of the Mizrachi, orthodox Zionists, which opened its sessions here today, immediately adopted a resolution declaring that Rabbi M. Osrovsky of Palestine does not represent the Mizrachi organization on the Vaad Leumi, the Jewish National Council of Palestine. Rabbi Osrovsky was sharply criticized in the resolution for having remained in the Vaad Leumi after the Mizrachi had withdrawn and his breach of organizational discipline was handed over to a Mizrachi court of honor for consideration.
The meeting of the world council of the Mizrachi was to have opened here on Friday, but was postponed until today owing to the fact that the organization had neglected to obtain permission from Polish authorities to hold the meeting.
The standing committee also adopted resolutions criticizing the Emigzeirot, Jewish youth colonization organizations, and also the Vaad Leumi, for having “failed to protect the Chief Rabbi of Palestine, Rabbi A. I. HaCohen Kook, against the attacks made on him by left wing elements in Palestine.”
The conference proclaimed the month of Nissan (April 4-May 4, 1935), as a month of anniversary in memory of the Rambam, Rabbi Moses Maimonides, great Jewish physician, philosopher and biblical commentator; the month of Elul (August 30-September 30, 1935), to celebrate the seventieth birthday of Rabbi Kook, and the month of Kislev (November 8-December 8, 1934), to celebrate the sixtieth birthday of Rabbi Meier Berlin, world president of the Mizrachi organization.
