Joseph Herbach, director of the B’nai B’rith membership campaign, today announced that Edwin J. Schanfarber of Columbus, Ohio, attorney and Jewish communal leader, has accepted the post of chairman of the national campaign committee in B’nai B’rith’s drive for 75,000 members in honor of the seventy-fifth birthday of the order’s president, Alfred M. Cohen.
Mr. Schanfarber, a graduate of Ohio State University Law School, is a past president of District Grand Lodge No. 2, and has served as president of the United Jewish Fund of Columbus. He has been a director or trustee of many institutions.
