Funeral services were held yesterday for Ivan Abramson, author and film producer, who died in Mount Sinai Hospital at the age of sixty-five. His home was at 740 West End avenue.
Mr. Abramson came to this country from Minsk, in 1877, a youth of 18. An early publisher of Jewish newspapers and periodicals, Mr. Abramson also ventured into the theatrical field as manager of the Jacob P. Adler Company.
After an experience beginning in 1901 with popular priced opera given in the States and Canada by a company he organized, Mr. Abramson in 1917 formed the Ivan Film Corporation, for which he wrote, directed and produced his own pictures. Mr. Abramson later became head of the Graphic Film Corporation, retiring four years ago. During his movie career he directed John Barrymore, Tallulah Bankhead and Richard Bennett among others.
