Evidence that the Austrian government headed by Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg has every intention of carrying out a complete anti-Semitic program was seen here today in the announcement that Viennese Jewish children in elementary and middle schools in the Leopoldstadt district will be segregated in a separate all-Jewish school.
When the schools under the supervision of the Vienna municipality opened yesterday, Jewish children in the district were not permitted to register in the ordinary schools, but were directed to a special school for Jews. Christian children in this school were ordered to register in other schools.
