The livelihood of hundreds of Jewish families of the Wolhynia district is threatened by a plan to create an agricultural syndicate for trade in flax and linseed.

With the cooperation of government banks the syndicate will plan to have complete control of that phase of commerce, fixing prices and avoiding the middleman. Many Jewish families are engaged in trading in flax and linseed and would lose their bread should the syndicate be established.
