The estate of Morris Lurie, who died August 24, 1932, was appraised yesterday in the office of the State Transfer Tax Department at $261,161 gross and $177,408 net. Bequests to philanthropic institutions total $36,700.
Mr. Lurie bequeathed $10,000 to the village of Hoosick Falls, N. Y., for the erection of a Morris Lurie Hospital. The United Hebrew Charities of New York receives $6,000 and the Hebrew Sheltering Guardian Society, the Beth Abraham Home for Incurables and Congregation Keheath Jesorim, $2,000 each. Twenty-one other Jewish charitable institutions received $14,700 in varying bequests.
