The voice of Rosa Ponselle will be heard again on the radio starting Monday night, supported once more by the musical organization of Andre Kostelanetz, in a half-hour broadcast from 9:00 to 9:30 P. M., E. S. T. The sponsor, as last season, is Chesterfield cigarettes.

The program will go out over WABC and the Columbia network.

On Wednesday nights, Nino Martini, romantic tenor, will be featured, and on Saturdays, the Chesterfield, broadcast will bring back Grete Stueckgold.

The Chesterfield series first came to the air in April, 1933, the first regular radio series to present Rosa Ponselle. It also introduced Grete Stueckgold to the American radio audience, although she was widely known for her concert and opera work. Nino Martini at that time had already established his place with radio listeners, and was the first singer ever chosen as a Metropolitan Opera star as a result of his work on the air. Kostelanetz was also known to the radio public, but it remained for these programs to give him his biggest opportunity. Mr. Kostelanetz firmly believes that modern American music has a right to take its place alongside the classical compositions, and he has been successful in combining the two in the Chesterfield series.

George Gershwin, famous composer-pianist, will introduce Harold Arlen, composer of popular music, in the initial broadcast on Sunday of “Music by Gershwin” on the WABC-Columbia network. In each program, to be heard weekly thereafter at the same time, Gershwin will present a well known composer and will himself be heard at the piano.
