In response to editorial suggestions in Emanu-El and The Jewish Journal, local Jewish leaders are suggesting a conference of congregation officers of the city with a view to devising some reorganization of the system of synagogue seating that would permit children to occupy pews beside their parents.

It is pointed out by those in favor of changing the present system that the infusing of true Jewish consciousness in the younger generation demands the opportunity for children to sit side by side with their elders during devotions. The present system of selling seats, it is pointed out, makes this economically impossible in most cases.
