Sidney Feldberg, secretary of the United Kosher Provision Company, located at 81 South Third street, Brooklyn, was held in $500 bail for the Court of Special Sessions by Magistrate Sylvester Sabattino, in the Bridge Plaza Court, Brooklyn, yesterday.
George Ringler, state supervisor of the State Kosher Meat Control, charged that on August 6, 1934, he tralled Feldberg, who was driving a truck, which had no name on it, from a store located at 46 Grand street, Brooklyn, to the plant of the United Kosher Provision Company, where a double door was opened and the truck was driven inside.
The doors were locked, and Ringler kept the place under observation until the truck pulled out, whereupon he entered the premises, accompanied by Inspector Morris Fein, and proceeded to examine the three barrels, Ringler alleged.
One barrel contained bones and the other two contained meat trimmings.
After examining the meat trimmings, it was found that some of the pieces had a Government stamp on same, showing that the meat came from firms which do not slaughter kosher.
