The sight of some of their comrades in the funeral cortege of a Jew caused blushes of shame to rush to the cheeks of many a Rinteln (Germany) Storm Troop member, the Prager Presse reports today, quoting a news item from Der Stuermer, publication of Julius Streicher, of Nuremberg.
“Old party comrades, Storm Troop men tried in battle, men who for ten years have sacrificed their all for the movement, felt the blush of shame in their cheeks when they saw in the funeral cortege of the Jew Lenzberg, a Storm Troop leader, a representative of the town council and local group leader of the National Socialist Hago (Trade and Industrial Action), a director of the regional staff and two assistant secondary school masters. They declared it was an unheard-of scandal, a disgrace to the movement,” the Stuermer is quoted as having stated.
