“Halka,” Moniuszko’s Polish opera, was given its initial performance last night by the recently arrived members of the Polish Opera Company before a large and appreciative audience at Mecca Temple. Featured performers were Maryla Karwowska, Janusz Poplawaki and Paul Farber, Polish Jewish baritone.
