A wave of anti-Jewish boycott activities has hit several of the smaller towns in the Saar Basin, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned today, in connection with the flood of German plebiscite propaganda that is continuing unabated throughout the territory which on January 16 will be called upon to decide whether it returns to Germany, stays under the jurisdiction of the League of Nations, or accepts the protection of France.

Nazis were seen picketing Jewish stores in the town of Sankt Wendel. They attempted to terrorize prospective customers and used every means possible in preventing German Christians from entering the shops, shouting to the customers: “Hitler commands it!”

The customers retorted bravely: “We are not yet subjects of the Third Reich.”

Saar police refused to intervene.
