True bills charging murder and conspiracy to murder were reported voted by the Cook County Grand Jury against those arrested in the murder of Eli Daiches, advertising agency head. Grand Jury action followed testimony of Mrs. Lillian O’Shea.
True bills were drawn against Arthur Emblem, Walter Murphy, Jack London and Irving Weitzman, charging conspiracy, and against Murphy, London and Weitzman, charging murder.
Grand jurors expressed keen interest, it was reported, in Daiches’ $300,000 insurance policy through which Louis Deitzman, a brother of the man indicted, would benefit, as he is now head of the Thomas E. Bowers Advertising Agency.
In circuit court yesterday Judge Benjamin P. Epstein granted an order to Mrs. Belle Daiches, widow of the murdered man, to examine certain books of the Bowers concern. The order permits her to scan the insurance records as well as the ledger accounts of Louis Weitzman, principal stockholder in the company.
Mrs. Daiches was traveling in Palestine when her husband was murdered in Chicago.
