Trial of the Swiss Nazis accused of publishing and asserting the truth of the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” was postponed for at least one month today by Presiding Judge Mayer in order to allow Colonel Ulrich Fleischauer of Erfurt, Germany, “expert” on Jewish affairs time to decide whether to accept the post for the Swiss Nazi defendants and in order to allow him time to prepare his case.
Judge Mayer acted after he consulted both the Jewish plaintiffs and the Nazi defendants.
Attorneys for the Jewish complainants made no efforts to halt the adjournment in order, as they explained, to deprive anti-Semites of an opportunity to call the judgment unfair.
ANTI-SEMITIC PUBLISHER
The trial will therefore not resume until December.
It is understood here that Colonel Fleischauer is the publisher of an anti-Semitic press bulletin in Erfurt.
The high spot of the trial, which began on Monday, and which was marked by the testimony of famous Jewish and non-Jewish leaders, who denounced the “Protocols” as a forgery, was the testimony offered by C. A. Loosi, Berne writer, and expert for the court, who declared that the “Protocols” belonged to the category of “scandalous literature of the worst species.”
