Holding Jewish funerals on the Sabbath, the first day of a festival, Rosh Hashonah, the seventh day of Passover or the eighth day of Tabernacles was unanimously condemned by the New York Board of Jewish Ministers, which called on all members to refuse to officiate on the days named. The communication was signed by Rabbi Max Drob, president of the organization.
