Although the second week of the Jewish Daily Bulletin’s “biggest Jewish news of the week” contest is well started, readers are reminded that there is still time to put in their bids for a generous slice of the $100 in cash prizes being awarded in the first week’s contest.
Deadline on all entries hopeful of getting a share of the first week’s spoils is midnight tonight. That means that all letters, which are not to exceed 250 words in length, must be postmarked by the Post Office not later than twelve o’clock midnight.
In order to enter the first contest, readers must obtain six contest coupons which appeared during the six days beginning Sunday, November 11. Issues carrying the coupons may be obtained at the offices of the Jewish Daily Bulletin, 221 Centre street. No entry will be considered without these coupons.
Rules for the second week of the “biggest Jewish news of the Week” contest are the same as prevailed during the first week. Eligibles are Bulletin readers. College and high school students are particularly invited to compete.
Awards for first, second and third places in the non-student and college divisions are twenty-five, ten and five dollars, respectively. In the high school group prizes are ten, five and two dollars, respectively. Gold, bronze and silver medals are also awarded winners in this division, while the schools which the contestants represent will receive points toward a special trophy to be given by the Bulletin for the school whose students amass the highest total of winning points in the contest.
The names of winners of the first week’s contest will be announced in Friday’s issue of the Bulletin. Winners of each week’s contest will be announced on the Friday following the competition’s end.
