Junior Hadassah Opens New School

An evening school for Jewish girls has been organized here by the New York unit of the Junior Hadassah, it was announced yesterday. Courses in Jewish subjects for girls who work or attend college during the day will be given.

The school, housed in the Ohab Zedek Synagogue, will offer a curriculum consisting of elementary and advanced courses in Hebrew and Jewish history. Later, it was declared, courses in Jewish literature and religion, will be added. Fifty students already have registered and the faculty at present consists of three teachers, a rabbi and two Hebrew teachers.

Miss Esther Novogrodsky, of this city, who is national and New York chairman of the Junior Hadassah cultural committee, said the New York school is expected to serve as a model for similar schools in other cities. Junior Hasah claims a membership of 10,000 throughout the country and participates actively in Palestine work.
