The continued anti-Jewish program in Germany was denounced here last night at a meeting attended by 3,000 persons by Senator Alfred M. Cohen, president of B’nai B’rith, who called upon all creeds to fight the Nazi menace here and abroad.
Senator Cohen made his address at Temple Israel following the initiation of a class of 150 into the Minneapolis lodge of B’nai B’rith.
He outlined the history and achievements of B’nai B’rith in dealing with the German situation and stemming the tide of anti-Semitism in the United States through the work of the Anti-Defamation League, Aleph Zadik Aleph and Hillel Foundations.
Arthur Brin, president of District 6, presided. An original degree team of twenty-five years ago exemplified the ritual of the organization.
President Cohen also conferred with Grace Gordon, in charge of the B’nai B’rith social service bureau at Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota, where thousands of Jewish patients are treated annually.
