American universities can gain much from cooperation with the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, declared George M. Hyman, director of the local Jewish Center and formerly assistant registrar of the Hebrew University, in a speech before the Biblical Society.
Praising the work of Dr. E. L. Sukenik, archaeologist of the university, Hyman declared that “archaeological research sponsored by the Hebrew University has already succeeded in throwing new light on the Bible.”
“The excavations show that a radical revision must be made in the concept that the ancient Hebrews had no art,” Hyman declared.
