“All at once,” Morris said today, “smoke and fire swept through the room. Everyone started running. I saw my brother stumbling through the room, but did not see him after that.”

The camp, three miles outside the town of Norris, was occupied by youths working on TVA projects under supervision of the National Parks Service.

The fire, according to Capt. John W. O’Daniel, started in an overheated flue.
