The immediate establishment of the projected Legislative Council in Palestine was demanded today by Rageb Bey Nashashibi, defeated mayor of Jerusalem, in a memorandum which he submitted to the Palestine government. The memorandum also protests against the recent transfer of the Huleh district to Jews.
This sudden move of Nashashibi may play a very important role in the fate of the proposed Legislative Council, since authorities recently were less certain as to whether Nashashibi’s group would participate in the Council.
