The judgment of the Allied Powers in establishing the Jewish Homeland in Palestine has been vindicated by history, Viscount Cecil, British representative on the Governing Body of the League of Nations High Commission for Refugees, declared in a message to American Jewry in connection with celebration in the United States, on January 20, of the first annual Palestine Day.
The statement by Lord Cecil, who was instrumental in the issuance of the Balfour Declaration in 1917, was released Friday by Morris Rothenberg, president of the Zionist Organization of America, under whose auspices the celebration will be held. It also stressed the fact that Palestine has proved a boon to Jewish refugees from Germany.
