20 Nations to Send Athletes to Tel Aviv

Sport organizations from twenty countries have to date sent in their applications to participate in the second Maccabiad.

The Olympiad of Palestine—which will be held here in April, 1936, it was announced by Meier Dizengoff, mayor of the city, addressing a press conference.

One thousand athletes in eighteen different fields of sports are scheduled to compete in the Maccabiad games. A world chess tournament is also included in the program for the Maccabiad.

Wounded at Antietam, Colonel Leopold Blumenberg of the Union Army served as provost-marshal in Baltimore for the remainder of the Civil War.
