The government of the Netherlands is considering the introduction of new legislation to check the growing anti-Semitic movement, Minister of Justice Dr. J. R. H. van Schaik told the Jewish deputy Henry Pollak, who questioned him in parliament today.
Pollak asked the government to prosecute the Dutch Nazi publishers and leaders who are slandering the Jews and spreading ritual murder stories all over the country.
In his answer, Dr. van Schaik deplored the fact that existing laws do not cover the type of slander and libel of which the Jewish deputy was complaining, but promised the introduction of new laws.
Holland, like all the other countries adjoining Nazi Germany, has become a center for spreading Nazi propaganda against the Jews, particularly against the refugees who fled to Holland.
