Dinner Nets $5,000 for Tuberculosis Unit

The treasury of the Deborah Tuberculosis Society was richer by $5,000 yesterday following a banquet at the Park Central Hotel, at which Judge Jacob Panken spoke.

The society’s council for Greater New York decided to call a conference at the Hotel Pennsylvania, the purpose of which will be to obtain 20,000 members. The organization maintains a sanitorium in New Jersey.

Hayim Mu’Allim Fabri, Jewish Minister of the Pasha of Damascus and Acre, was the moving spirit in the organization of the defense of Acre during Napoleon’s siege in 1799.
