Lauritz Melchior, world-famous heroic tenor, was to appear with the General Motors Symphony Orchestra, with Hans Lange as guest conductor, Sunday evening at 8 o’clock in an NBC broadcast.

Grete Stueckgold, Metropolitan Opera soprano, will go on a tour of Canada next month which will take her to Saskatoon, Sask.; Calgary, Alta.; Edmonton, Alta.; Winnipeg, Man., and Regina, Sask.

Ruth Posselt, young American violinist, will give a recital at Town Hall February 4. Ernest Bloch’s “Nigun” is one of the numbers on her program.

Arturo Toscanini was to conduct the Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra in the Bruckner Symphony No. 7 Sunday afternoon.

Igor Stravinsky, composer, conductor and pianist, will return from the Midwest for his appearance as conductor of the General Motors broadcast February 3.

Raya Garbousova, cellist, has gone to Europe to fulfill engagements in Holland, England and Spain. Later she will give concerts in Palestine, Egypt and Syria.

Ethel Bartlett and Rae Robertson, in a two-piano recital at Town Hall February 10, will play a program devoted to Mozart, Bach, Bizet and Sinding.

Albert Spalding, violinist, will play at Carnegie Hall February 26. Bach’s Sonta in E major for piano and violin and Schubert’s Fantasy in C major will be featured.

Maria Kurenko, Russian soprano, was to give a Town Hall recital Sunday evening.

Vladimir Horowitz, pianist, is scheduled to arrive February 27 with his wife, the former Wanda Toscanini. His American tour this season will be limited to six weeks, it is announced.

Henriette Michelson, who is giving an all Beethoven recital at Town Hall February 13, was last heard in New York in a recital five years ago. She is at present connected with the piano faculty of the Institute of Musical Art.

Erno Valasek, the 14-year old violinist, will appear as soloist with the Beethoven Symphony Orchestra of Bethlehem. Pa., conducted by Herbert Fiss February 10. Young Valasek has just filled a successful appearance in Washington, on a program with Mme. Lotte Lehmann and gave his own concert at Town Hall last Sunday
