J. George Fredman, past national commander-in-chief of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States, has been appointed chairman of the 1935 national convention committee of the veterans’ organization, it was announced yesterday.
The locale of the convention, which will probably be held during the first week of September, has not as yet been announced. Many cities, including Akron, Ohio; New York, and Washington, D. C., are bidding for the convention, it was announced by Mr. Fredman.
However, he states, he is doing his utmost to bring the convention to New Jersey, and is considering Asbury Park and Atlantic City as headquarters. Mr. Fredman is a resident of Jersey City.
Three thousand delegates, and an equal number of guests, are expected to attend the annual meeting, which was held last year at New Britain, Conn.
