More than a hundred Jews who were arrested for illegally entering Palestine went on a hunger strike at the Acre jail today, demanding a speedy trial.

The strikers demand either swift deportation from the country or permission to remain. They protest being kept in jail without standing trial since conditions there are unsanitary.
