“The entire matter of Poland’s act of repudiation of the minority treaties will have to come up before the council of the League of Nations for decision,” Sir John Simon announced. “As far as the position of the British government is concerned, I can state that we consider it clear that the procedure of guaranteeing the national minority rights under the League of Nations is still in force and cannot be modified by unilateral action on the part of any state.”
Sir John also emphasized that the position of the British government with regard to Poland’s renunciation of the national minority rights is shared by other governments represented in the council of the League of Nations.
