Flying the flag of Palestine, the steamer “Tel Aviv,” the first Jewish boat of the Palestine Shipping Company, arrived in the Lisbon harbor and was given a great reception by the Jewish community here. The steamer sailed at midnight for Casa Blanca.

The “Tel Aviv,” which has a tonnage of 10,000, is operated as a single class boat, and is built to accomodate 400 passengers. A large proportion of the crew is Jewish. There is a school on the ship in which fifteen to twenty men will be trained for service at sea while serving apprenticeship.

The Palestine Shipping Company was founded by Arnold Bernstein, who operates a regular passenger line between New York and Europe. The company is capitalized at $300,000.
