Max Fisch, owner of a novelty shop at 123 Ludlow street, who is charged with violation of the Wald Act, which makes it a misdemeanor to sell goods with the label of origin obliterated, will be tried in Special Sessions Court this morning.
The Anti-Nazi Minute Men, through Sol Elton, an officer, is charging Fisch with selling German-made goods with the labels removed.
The case is the first under the Wald Act, passed May, 1934, to reach Special Sessions and will be in the nature of a test of the law. Two other cases of a similar nature were settled out of court.
