The municipal council of Tel Aviv today elected Rabbi Kook, Chief Rabbi of Palestine, honorary citizen of the city.
The members of the Histaduth, the Palestine Labor party, abstained from voting when the Council put to a vote the decision to bestow honorary citizenship upon the venerable rabbi.
