Dr. Thon in a general way stated that while the Polish government burdens the Jewish population with heavy taxation in order to meet its military budget, it takes no interest in the economic plight in which the 3,500,000 Jews of Poland are now situated, because of the taxation system. Dr. Thon spoke during the general parliamentary debate on the budget.
