Dr. Herman J. Friedman, Manhattan dentist, sailed Wednesday on the S. S. Rex for Palestine—where he will launch a preventive dentistry campaign with the aid of the Straus Health Centre,, a unit of the Hadassah Medical Organization.

The thirty-first annual convention of the Jewish Consumptives’ Relief Society of Denver, Colo., will be held at the Hotel Astor here on March 23, 24 and 25, it was announced yesterday.

Five hundred men and women, heading 93 trade and professional groups, women’s committees, young men’s groups, and Juniors, will be organized into the most elaborate apparatus the Brooklyn Federation ever set up when this year’s campaign for $543,000 gets under way, it was announced yesterday by Walter N. Rothschild, chairman. The campaign will open with a dinner at the Hotel St. George March 21, marking the commencement of the Federation’s second quarter century of activity.

Rabbi Abraham L. Fineberg, who resigned from the pulpit of Temple Israel, New York, five years ago, will deliver his first sermon since then tonight at Mt. Neboh Congregation, 130 West 79th street, at the invitation of its board of directors.

The Maimonides Hygienic Association has made arrangements to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Rambam at the Hotel Taft on April 7, 1935. The association is planning to commemorate the Rambam with the establishment of a Rambam Academy for the teaching of the Ethics and Philosophy of the immortal Maimonides, preventive medicine, hygiene, dietetics and other branches of practical science, it was announced by Dr. A. M. Liebstein.

More than 185 persons attended an open meeting of the Tremont Temple Sisterhood in the vestry rooms, 2064 Grand Concourse, which was presided over by Mrs. Clara Reichman.

The Garment Center Congregation, 461 Seventh avenue, New York City, has organized a sisterhood, it was announced yesterday. The following officers have been elected: Mrs. Harry Immerman, president; Mrs. Charles Seiken, Mrs Charles Davis, vice-presidents; Miss Lillian Obrenz, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Henry ##ndenauer, recording secretary; Mrs. Rudolph Schwam, financial secretary, and Mrs. Jacob Friedman, treasurer.

The jubilee banquet of the Erste Shendiszower Galizianer Chevra will be held tomorrow night at the Broadway Central Hotel. Guest speakers include Bernard Semel, Rabbi Harry Wohlberg and Jacob Kirschenbaum.
