It is believed unlikely that discrimination against Jewish athletes in Nazi Germany will be taken up at the present sessions of the International Olympics Committee here. Nor is it likely that the session will even consider the question of shifting the Olympic Games from Berlin to any other foreign capital, it was indicated in circles close to the committee today.
It is, however, possible that the German delegate at the sessions will repeat the assurance given by the German sports authorities that no difficulties will be made for Jewish athletes in Germany. Such an assurance may be made by the German delegate in the course of a general discussion.
The Norwegian press points out today that the delegates from the United States and England are not attending the sessions of the International Olympics Committee. Their absence is being interpreted by the Oslo press as indication that both England and America have accepted the assurances of the German sports authorities with regard to the present position of the Jews in the sports life of Germany.
