I. W. Shklovsky, internationally known Anglo Jewish journalist who wrote under the pen-name of “Dionee,” died here today. He was eighty years old.

Shklovsky was born in Russia and was considered one of the best foreign journalists. Prior to the Soviet Revolution he worked in London as the correspondent of the famous liberal Moscow daily, Russkia Vedomosti, which was very influential and was considered the mouthpiece of the Russian intelligentsia. He also contributed to many Russian monthly publications. His writing on England were always considered the most authentic and the best informed.

After the revolution Shklovsky worked for a number of Russian publications published outside of Russia and also for British newspapers. He also contributed to the New York Jewish monthly magazine, Die Zukunft.
