The crisis in North Africa, which has resulted in anti-Jewish rioting several times during the past year is not an outgrowth of economic difficulties, as has been declared in various circles, the Petit Parisien says in an editorial today.

The warning, occasioned by the fact that the Minister of Interior has decided to go to Algeria himself in order to get first hand information regarding the disturbances, asserts that they are the fruits of the efforts of the Pan-Islamic movement, initiated by the Pan-Islamic Congress held recently in Jerusalem. The movement, Le Petit Parisien asserts, is a threat to the peace of the entire Levant.
