Important discoveries have been made in Palestine by the Wellcome Archaeological Research Expedition to the Near East which has been carrying out work in connection with Old Testament history.

“Ten potsherds bearing Hebrew inscriptons found in the late Jewish levels at Tell Duweir. Cannot be later than B. C. 588. Divine name Jahve appears several times; also Jeremiah, Mattaniah, Gemariah and Jaazaniah,” says a message.
