The first united drive for Jews in Germany and Poland, and for Jewish work in Palestine, was launched here today by the Jewish Community of Stockholm, marking the first coordinated drive of its kind in Europe.

The necessity to include Poland in the campaign was decided upon by the leaders of the community here after listening to a report about the miserable situation of the three million Jews of Poland. A number of leaders expressed the belief that “the situation of the Jews in Poland today is much worse than the one of the Jews in Nazi Germany.”

Tragic pictures of Jewish life in Poland were given here in the general press this week, as a result of a survey made by a Scandinavian journalist in a number of Polish cities.
