All Jews employed in municipal institutions here will be dismissed from their jobs, unless the central government intervenes against a resolution to this effect introduced today in the Municipal Council.
The resolution was introduced by the anti-Semitic National Democratic councillors. Since the National Democrats institute a majority in the council, the resolution will probably be adopted, if not checked in time by the government.

Lodz is one of the Polish municipalities controlled by the anti-Semitic National Democratic party, which is also in opposition to the present government. This party has a strong following throughout the country and is constantly engaged in conducting anti-Jewish propaganda.
Experimenting with anti-Jewish theories in Lodz through the municipality, the National Democrats this week succeeded in applying the “Aryan” paragraph when the municipality voted for a prize to be given for the best literary works of the year. The contest rules adopted by the Municipal Council provide that the prize be open to “Aryans” only.
This city, once a flourishing center of the Polish textile industry, is now full of unemployed, many Jewish manufacturers having been compelled to liquidate their businesses, due to the high taxes imposed upon Jews in Poland.
