With the official opening of the Spring campaign of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities still three days off, several of the ninety-three units into which the drive is organized have already started active fund-gathering, it was announced yesterday by Walter N. Rothschild, campaign chairman.
The first cash contribution from any of the major units will be presented to Mr. Rothschild officially tonight at the regular monthly meeting of the Junior Federation at Union Temple, 17 Eastern Parkway. Samuel Weinberg, campaign chairman for the junior body, will present a check for $1,250.83, proceeds of the annual ball held last month.
Attorneys have also started to receive contributions, it was announced yesterday by Benjamin C. Ribman, chairman, whose division has raised its own quota from the $25,000 set to $30,000.
A luncheon of the life insurance division will be held tomorrow at the Hotel Pennsylvania, at which campaign plans will be outlined by Max Cooper, chairman.
