Dr. Hyman Azra Cohen has been awarded a year’s scholarship in Europe by the committee of the National Science Research Counsel.

Mrs. Mathilda Altheimer, mother of the noted attorney Ben J. Altheimer, is dead here at the age of 91.

Louis Pitzele, prominent in local Jewish charitable activities, is dead here at the age of 69. He was affiliated with the Marks Nathan Orphans Home, the Congregation Anshe Emet and other Jewish organizations.

The College of Jewish Studies of Chicago will give a special course on the life and works of Maimonides, whose 800th birthday anniversary is being celebrated throughout the world this month. Dr. Meyer Waxman will conduct the course.

Vladimir Jabotinsky, world Revisionist leader who arrives here March 26, will be officially received by Mayor Edward J. Kelly.
