The existence of a secret Nazi organization in Switzerland for the kidnaping of German refugees who are conducting anti-Nazi propaganda in order to deliver them to Germany was revealed here today by the Swiss secret police in the investigation conducted in connection with the disappearance of the German-Jewish journalist, Dr. Berthold Jacob.
The investigation has established that the kidnapers of Dr. Jacob are official agents of the Nazi government. The Swiss government intends to make strong representations to Berlin and to demand the return of the kidnaped German exile. It will be emphasized in the representations that the abduction is a direct violation of the neutrality agreement between Switzerland and Germany.
The kidnaping of Dr. Jacobs may also be brought before the League of Nations. The case is arousing great public protest and is developing important ramifications. The Swiss press charges that “this is not the first impudent and contemptuous violation of the sovereignty of Switzerland by the Nazis.”
