A feport that Emir Abdullah, ruler of Transjordan, has reached an agreement with High Commissioner Wauchope of Palestine by which Palestine and Transjordan are to be united, is published in today’s Arab press.
According to the report, the Emir’s trip to London has nothing to do with the Silver Jubilee of the King of England, as previously reported. The Emir, it is stated, is proceeding to London to complete negotiations which he started with the British government for the unification of Transjordan and Palestine.
The Arab paper Maraat el Shark reports that Emir Abdullah has been conducting “progressive talks” with British Commissioner Cox in Transjordan and with High Commissioner Wauchope of Palestine for the reunification of Transjordan and Palestine. “It is these talks that Emir Abdullah is now anxious to complete in London,” the paper writes.
The Emir’s trip to London is the second he has ever made abroad. His first trip was made about a year ago when he visited London for three weeks during which he was entertained by the British government.
