A comprehensive plan calling for the creation of a Central American Bureau to coordinate the existing economic agencies in Palestine as well as to stimulate further efforts in the United States for the economic development of Palestine, was presented last Monday by Dr. I. M. Rubinow, at a session of the Committee of Nine elected by the recent Washington Conference on Palestine, it was announced yesterday.
Dr. Rubinow, chairman of the committee, was authorized to elaborate on the reports submitted to the committee and, when completed, to submit them to the Committee of Twenty-five elected by the national conference for adoption and action. Morris Rothenberg submitted to the same session a report on the Palestine Planning Commission, proposing an early convocation of the Jewish Agency, the Keren Hayesod and the Keren Kayemeth, with a view to forming a planning commission in Palestine.
The Committee of Nine consists of Dr. Rubinow, chairman; Israel B. Brodie, Harry L. Glucksman, Mrs. Edward Jacobs, Louis Lipsky, Morris Rothenberg, Baruch H. Schnur, Morris D. Waldman and David Wertheim.
