Dr. Nisson Touroff, first dean of the Hebrew Teachers’ College, was the principal speaker Sunday night at the celebration of that school’s bar-mitzvah anniversary.
The fiftieth birthday anniversary of Israel Pollack, noted Hebrew pedagogue on the faculty of the Hebrew Teachers College, is being observed this month by Jewish educational institutions, Hebraists, teachers and friends. Mr. Pollack is the author of numerous text books used in Hebrew schools.
Bringing to a close the Greater Boston drive, Dr. Henry Moskowitz, national chairman of the board of directors of the People’s Ort Federation, was the principal speaker Sunday night at the federation’s banquet. Subscriptions and cash donations of more than $5,000 were announced for the evening.
