The Executive of the International Student Service, at its sessions here today, rejected the conditions upon which the German students have hinged their return to membership, because these conditions demanded the removal of Prof. Albert Einstein as the honorary president of the organization.
The conditions as formulated by the German students embodied also a number of Nazi concepts which the I.S.S. was unwilling to accept. The German students will thus remain out of this organization until they change their definite Nazi attitude.
The International Student Service was founded in 1920 to foster mutual understanding between students of different countries and nationalities. Following the restrictions proclaimed in Germany by the Nazi regime against Jewish students, this organization adopted an outspoken attitude against the Nazi regime which resulted in the withdrawal of the German students from this body.
