Chicago Rabbi Compiles Book of Jewish Humor

L. M. Stein, announces the publication on April 15 of a new anthology of Jewish humorous stories under the title “The Jew Laughs.” The compiler is S. Felix Mendelsohn, Rabbi of Temple Beth Israel here and well-known Jewish journalist.

The book consists of 387 stories grouped according to subject and is believed the most complete collection of Jewish humor ever written in English. A novel feature is a large section devoted to Jewish jokes which have sprung up on American soil.
