Rosenfeld to Speak at JNF Conference

Dr. Kurt Rosenfeld, former Minister of Justice in Prussia, and now a refugee in this country, will be the guest speaker at the greater New York women’s conference for Palestine Land Redemption, to be held tomorrow afternoon at Temple Emanu-El.

The conference was convoked under the auspices of the women’s activities committee of the Jewish National Fund, of which Mrs. Israel Goldstein is chairman. Its purpose is consideration of plans for the enlightenment of Jewish women’s organizations of all shades of opinion on the Palestine land redemption work of the Keren Kayemeth Le’Israel. Stella Adler, Group Theatre actress, will participate in the program of the conference.

The call to the conference was issued by a special committee, of which Judge Anna Moscowitz Kross is chairman, Mrs. Rebekah Kohut is honorary chairman, and Mrs. Mark Harris is vice-chairman. The Conference, according to the list of sponsors made public by the committee, will be a representative assembly of Jewish women.

ZIONISTS PLACE ROTHENBERG IN JNF GOLDEN BOOK

The Downtown Zionist District, the oldest Zionist unit in the United States last night presented Morris Rothenberg, President of the Zionist Organization of America, with a certificate of the inscription of his name in the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund, at Jerusalem, in recognition of his contribution to the Zionist cause during more than two decades. Upwards of 500 New York Zionists attended the celebration at the Central Plaza marking the opening of the new headquarters of that organization.

Beginning yesterday, hundreds of volunteers canvassed the Jewish public with boxes for contributions toward the upkeep of institutions maintained by Histadruth Ivrith. Last evening a Maimonides celebration by Histadruth Ivrith was held at the Hotel Pennsylvania.
