A heated debate with regard to the ban on the Yiddish language in Palestine developed yesterday at the convention of the Histadruth, the Pallestine Labor Federation.
The convention was called for the purpose of discussing internal problems. A resolution was introduced also with regard to Yiddish.
David Remez, the leader of the Histadruth, who presided at the concluding session of the convention, refused to take this resolution to a vote. He explained his stand by the fact that “no boycott against Yiddish exists in Palestine.”
